Fabric comparisons
Do light perfumes last longer on clothes
Light is a scent or marketing description, not a fabric-suitability or duration rating. A quieter perfume may leave a different later trace in permitted material use, but no universal clothing advantage follows from the adjective.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Define light first
An airy character, low projection and a lighter-positioned version are different ideas. Know which one you are comparing before interpreting a later trace.
Check application and care
Read both the perfume directions and garment guidance. A delicate-smelling product is not automatically appropriate for delicate fabrics.
Choose suitable presence
A close-range fragrance may already meet your intended need. Fabric application is not a required step to turn every quiet perfume into a stronger one.
Try this before you buy
Write what light means on the actual listing and confirm permitted use before comparing any surfaces.
