Understanding perfume
Fresh vs sweet perfume
Fresh describes impressions such as citrus, green or marine brightness; sweet describes a sugary, dessert-like or warm impression. They are not opposites that exclude each other: one perfume can feel fresh and sweet at different moments or together.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Describe the effect you enjoy
Do you prefer citrus peel, watery brightness or vanilla-like warmth? Those references give more information than choosing a side based only on a broad adjective.
Check the later balance
A fresh opening may develop into a sweeter impression. Compare both stages so you choose a complete fragrance rather than deciding from the first spray.
Keep strength separate
Sweet does not automatically mean strong, and fresh does not establish low projection. Evaluate presence and duration independently from the scent description.
Try this before you buy
Record freshness and sweetness separately at the opening and later; both can be present in the same sample.
