Getting started
How to choose between two perfumes
Compare two perfumes on separate, similar days and judge them against the same occasion. Choose the one you enjoy through the wear and would reach for more often, rather than the one with the most dramatic first impression.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Keep the comparison fair
Use each fragrance without layering it with another perfume. Note the day, setting and application so you understand differences in your experience. If you test both together, it may be harder to separate your impressions later.
Score useful differences
Record opening enjoyment, later enjoyment, comfort in your chosen setting and desire to wear again. Keep performance separate from preference: the longer-lasting option is not automatically the one you like more.
Break a tie with actual use
Ask which one solves your most frequent need and which would sit unused. If both appeal for different reasons, you can keep samples while buying only one bottle. A tie does not require buying both immediately.
Try this before you buy
Use a two-column note with the same four criteria, then revisit your verdict after a second wear.
