Understanding fading
Why do citrus perfumes fade quickly
A citrus perfume can seem shorter-lived when the opening brightness becomes less prominent. The complete fragrance may still have supporting notes, so distinguish the duration of the citrus impression from the duration of every part of the composition.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Track the opening specifically
Write whether lemon-like, bergamot-like or another bright character is what you miss later. That gives the observation more meaning than a single weak-perfume label.
Read what supports the citrus
Woods, flowers or warmer effects can shape the later scent. Similar citrus top notes do not establish identical development across products.
Choose the experience you prefer
If you mainly enjoy the opening, another composition may fit better. Increasing application is not automatically the right way to preserve one impression indefinitely.
Try this before you buy
Record citrus brightness and overall remaining scent as separate parts of a repeat wearing trial.
